What is Gobo? Where does Gobo come from? It is a Japanese word for burdock root, long used by herbalists to detoxify the body. Also, our tagline "food for the five senses" is from Buddhist philosophy meaning to awaken the root of the five senses and in turn awaken the sixth sense, the mind.

Asian influenced and globally inspired, the cuisine at Gobo can be described as delicious and fulfilling. Chef de Cuisine, Yuki Chen, creates a unique World Vegetarian Cuisine for Gobo after over 10 years of Chinese “temple-inspired vegetarian cooking” at Zen Palate.

Both David and Darryn Wu, the owners of Gobo restaurant, had a vision to open a restaurant to serve delicious food that was just non-meat and non-seafood. They wanted to celebrate with vegetarians and delightfully surprise non-vegetarians, creating a special dining experience for both. Completely vegan it is not, a lot of vegan choices it is. Enjoy vegetarian cuisine that spans the globe from rissotto to herbed cream stuffed eggplants.
