The Scene
The front dining room of this sibling to Ray's on the River has huge plate-glass windows that provide a cool sunken view of Peachtree Street. The back room features a tank of crustaceans, a sushi bar and a glittery bar with hanging plasma TVs. Conventions and tourism are the restaurant's bread and butter, but the reasonably priced fare and exuberant service brings a few locals into the mix.

The Food
The menu, which changes daily, lives up its fresh seafood billing. The waitstaff states that fish is delivered five times a day--guaranteed never out of the water for more than 48 hours. The broiled seafood platter features buttery lobster tail and Atlantic salmon. Selections from the raw bar change daily and showcase oysters and clams from disparate coasts. Sushi standards are just as fresh and a lightly seared tuna tataki is reason enough to make that trip downtown.
Know Before You Go

The restaurant is open Sundays from 11am to 10pm when large conventions are in town.

Parking

There's a garage on the corner of Andrew Young International and Peachtree Street. Or avoid the parking hassle and take MARTA. Ray's is next to the Peachtree Center station.

The Extras

Ask about the low-carb dishes. Your server will even tell you exactly how many carbs are in each dish.

Second Look

You know the zing you get from a new haircut or a wearing a new pair of swanky shoes? Just as we can all do with a bit of making-over once in a while, so can restaurants.

But there’s a comfort level in the tried and true, and the folks in charge at Ray’s in the City knew it. So when they set about to spruce up their Peachtree Street location, they didn’t go for drastic, but more comfortable.
