Good Food, Good Beer, and Good Cooks.
They run a tight ship and shows. The exec chef is a good guy and trains his crew well. The waitstaff is hip too.
The Crab is awesome, and the pizza is unique. Overall the menu is full of good options. Try their flavored lemonades and iced teas!

Whenever the wife and I have a date night, we usually (OK, always) head here. Their custom brews are excellent, and their food is wonderful--much of it alder-smoked (awesome flavor!). The calamari appetizer is the best. Tip: Costco has off-season gift cards at a discount (like $100 worth of cards for $75 or something like that--only available in the winter so tourists don't get them). Thankfully our friends and family know our love of the place and gift cards for the holidays are par for course (or else we'd go broke eating there!) NOTE: The gift cards are good for Brewhouse, or their sister restaurant (located in the same building) Orsos which is a heavy Italian restaurant, so this may increase their supposed value for some folks).
Growlers are available (sealed 64oz to go brews) and are very reasonably priced. Like a bit above 10 bucks for your first purchase (including the growler itself) and less than ten bucks to refill it (depends on if it's a specialty beer or not, but both are under 10). This includes their root beer and other non-alcy brews.
They have a full bar, though at one time they didn't have a blender--not sure if this is still the case (it may have just been broken at the time...?)
The prices are on the higher side, but the food is usually wonderful. "Medium Rare" seems to take on a different meaning each time I'm there, though (for my Prime Rib, anyway). Dinner for two including drinks, appetizer, and desert WILL exceed $100.
The atmosphere is great and you won't feel out of place in either a suit or a pair of Carhart overalls. Pure Alaskan.
Downtown parking can be a drag (either difficult or pricey). It doesn't change our opinion, though. Love it! If we have tickets to a show at the PAC, then the night isn't complete without dinner here beforehand!
My menu: Calamari, cask-aged IPA, Prime Rib, chocolate-peanut butter pie.
Her menu: Calamari, Amaretto Sour, Cajun Halibut (when available), creme brulee

Among Anchorage's top-shelf eateries. A great place to spend a special occasion or take a visiting guest to. All of the food to include deserts are noteworthy. The atmosphere here gives off a very warm and welcoming Alaskan feeling. The staff is top notch. I would rank GBH among my top 3 favorite places to dine in Anchorage. They have an excellent selection of wine, cocktails, and their own beer. If you visit them, make sure you try one of their deserts, my favorite is the bread pudding. If I remember correctly, they do take reservations.
