The Scene
Roscoe's offers no-frills decor but hey, you're not here for the furniture. And if you're planning a weekend brunch, show up early: It's a favorite after-church spot for Pico locals, with families arriving in their Sunday best.

The Food
An L.A. institution immortalized in flicks like "Swingers" and "Pulp Fiction," Roscoe's is not for the Lipitor crowd: Fried chicken mixes with gravy-smothered hash browns in dishes that cardiac patients ought to avoid. Newcomers should order the Scoe's Special--chicken and waffles, of course--but return visitors should check out other soul-food staples like the giblets and rice with gravy and onions. The waffles themselves are fluffy and slightly sweet so be careful not to drench them in too much syrup and butter.
Know Before You Go

There are several other locations in the SoCal region.

The Extras

Get the Big Mama Special--scrambled eggs blended with onions and cheese--and Big Mama, one of the waitresses, might even serve it to you.

belgian waffles with a side of gangrape

my friday night trip to roscoe's house of chicken 'n waffles was a pivotal moment in my life and my anus.
i was just finishing up eating 14 waffles when i realized that there was a group of chubby middle-aged men staring at me and licking their lips. somehow i was attracted by this and i licked my lips back, tempting them. after i finished and payed my check/left without paying they hurried to catch up to me. i don't know what got into me, but i asked them if they'd like to gangrape me. of course they agreed at once being the cute little thing i am.
althought i just got my test results back this afternoon and have found out that i now have aids, herpes, crabs and scabies, it was nontheless the best restaurant experience of my life.

Don't Be Afraid!

It sounds like it would be strange to eat together, chicken and waffles, but it's a pretty damn good combination of flavors.

Once you try it, you'll be hooked and will find yourself wondering why noone else has copied Roscoe's idea.

Me and a Missus

Man, this place is crackin. Went there with a female friend as part of a get-outta-town thang and let me tell you, it was great. The chicken was pretty good for an outside-the-house occasion, even better. And the waffles. Man! Those waffles would make you wanna slap yo momma! They seemed to be a special blend of belgian and homestyle waffles, perhaps mixed with cinnamon or something to that efffect. It equaled great, that's all can say. Not too expensive and very satisfying food. Two-thumbs up for Roscoe's! Peace!

MmMmM Waffles are the best aswell as the chicken.

The first time i went to this place was with one of my friends who told me about it when we took a Saturday trip to Los Angeles. what i ordered was the fried chicken which was nice and crispy and the best tasting chicken i have had, The waffles were nice and fluffy and had a nice taste to the waffle alone the syrup only made it taste BETTER!! I also got to try the Macaroni + Cheese and the corn bread which were pretty good as well. I plan on making a stop again when i happen to be in Los Angeles i give this place a A and i plan to try out some other sides while i am there.

Two great tastes that taste great together

When Mama says get your elbows off the table - you better comply

Get the Scoe's Special!

Chicken and Waffles. Sounds odd as hell but just do it - you'll be glad you did. That's pretty much the highlight at the venue. I've had some of the sides and been less than impressed. Also, the Red Velvet cake was never a fave of mine but if you're a fan you may like it.

Messy and fabulous

Mmm smothered chicken is a glorious invention. And when there's a waffle there too, it's Thomas Edison lightbulb good. I never can finish my food, but luckily I usually go with many other people (including my garbage disposal boyfriend) who will finish my scraps. I also love that at the Pico location, "Big Mama" yells at people to get their "elbows off the table." I always have good manners and I'm not that bothered by things like elbows on the table, but it's nice to go to a place where they care so much! The fluorescent pink lighting is an added bonus too.

Great place for soul food

This place may be packed sometimes, but it's worth the wait.
There are very few places left where you can experience true soul food:
- the hot cornbread
- the chicken that's fried just right
- the waffles
- all washed down with a nice sunrise.

The prices are very reasonable here and you will always leave fulfilled. Bring your friends and family here to experience the authenticity of American soul food.

Excellent chicken and waffles

Had many enjoyable meals here; make sure to try it out. EXCELLENT, juicy chicken; even the white meat is juicy.

Famous for a reason

Seriously, do yourself a favor and go here as soon as possible. They finally expanded so it is actually possible to get a seat although its still impossible to find parking unless you valet. Every single thing on the menu is great and pretty reasonably priced. Man, now I want to go here... tomorrow!
