An L.A. institution immortalized in flicks like "Swingers" and "Pulp Fiction," Roscoe's is not for the Lipitor crowd: Fried chicken mixes with gravy-smothered hash browns in dishes that cardiac patients ought to avoid. Newcomers should order the Scoe's Special--chicken and waffles, of course--but return visitors should check out other soul-food staples like the giblets and rice with gravy and onions.
