In Short
A fixture since 1972, this French spot exudes a romantic feel, with wooden tables and simple red and white plates. Onion soup gratinee is a flavorful starter, but the focus is on savory and sweet crepes. Favorites include ratatouille crepe filled with squash, zucchini, eggplant, onion and carrots, and seafood crepe with shrimp and scallops in a light cream sauce. For dessert, the Grand Marnier crepe is fluffy and moist, seasoned with liqueur.
Know Before You Go

Crepes are served a la carte or as a prix-fixe meal--soup or salad, entree crepe and dessert crepe for about $16.

Bon Appetite!

The food there was delicious and I'm defiantly going back.
I went there for a field trip with my French class and they fit us perfectly in the back dining room.
I had never had French Onion soup until then and it was so amazing.
Then, I had a chicken and cheese crepe for my course. It was just like a pot pie, only wrapped up. It was perfect. Just a tiny bit runny, but it didn't mater much to me.
For desert I had the chocolate crepe. It was savory and filling.
I suggest this place for any occasion. It's nice to take a trip up to Chicago to eat some nice French cuisine ^ ^

These Crepes Are NOT The Ones I Love – C’est La Vie!

I’ve tried them twice – and while the atmosphere is great and the dessert crepes are fairly tasty, the regular dinner crepes just don’t cut it. I’m still trying to figure out why they’re not the same as the crepes I ate twice a day when I was in Paris. It may have to do with the fact that the crepes at La Creperie are crisper – they lack that unique combination of tensile strength and softness that perfect, authentic crepes have. Whatever it is, I am always disappointed when I go. But I’m nothing if not stubborn – so I’m sure I’ll be back there again – but for now, their crepes just don’t compare to the real thing.

This place USED to be a wonder

I have been going here for about six years and for most of those years I was in love. The restaurant looks like something that was picked up from Paris and dropped in the middle of Chicago. Dark wood and French posters cover the walls and the outdoor garden is perfect for a romantic date in the summer.

...Or at least I used to think that until last week. Like I said I used to love this place but last week I lost it. Their once famed soup is now watered down and has no flavor and my mother ordered a chicken and mushroom crepe and the mushrooms were poured onto her crepe FROM A CAN. They weren't cooked and the can juices were even on her plate.

I was so disappointed I don't know what to say. I mean yes, we didn't have to pay for the crepe but that doesn't make up for the crappy food and how disappointed I was.

Creperie, call me when you get your act together again.

Perfection thy Name is Crepe

Romantic, cozy, engaging, perfect.

Whether with a group of friends or with a significant other, this intimate little spot is a perfect place to enjoy dinner with people you really care for.

The banana fosters crepe is wowzers, the nutella rich and creamy, the ratatouille savory and filling…I’ve had more than a few and continue to come back year after year.

Their house bottle of red wine is also a standout as far as house wine's go.
