In Short
Hunky's grinds its high-quality beef fresh daily and then hand-forms the patties. The result is a taste of hamburger heaven. For the adventurous, there's a jalapeno cheeseburger, a tropical "Hula" one with pineapple or a ground turkey burger for the health-conscious. Hunky's is also a bargain: all-beef Hunky Dog with the works is less than four dollars, and a corny dog is less than two. Vegetarians enjoy Hunky's Veggie burger topped with Swiss cheese.
Know Before You Go

The desserts change daily, depending on what's fresh.

What to Drink

Go back to the 1950s and order a Fountain drink: Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, shakes made with Blue Bell ice cream or even a malt.

Where to Sit

Head to the patio and enjoy some of the best people-watching in Oak Lawn.

Nice Joint!

I have been going to Hunky's for years. The food is always predictably good. A great place to people watch or hang out with friends. Prices aren't outrageous either. Located in the heart of Dallas' gay district, there is rarely a dull moment but Hunky's is nice enough for me to take my parents for a "homemade" burger and a beer.

A Fun Place To Be - A Great Place To Eat!

Hunky's is a great place! The atmosphere is 1950's and the food is fresh and hot. You'd be hard pressed to find hamburgers as good as they serve here at Hunky's. The owners and staff of this restaurant are very friendly and helpful as well. I have been frequesnting this place since coming to Dallas in late 2001.
I now live in Garland, but when I am in Oak Lawn, I love to trek over to Hunky's! In the heart of the local dallas GLBT neighborhood, it's a place where all can feel comfortable being themselves and enjoying good food, good friends, and good conversation!
