I went here for the first time today and was definitely impressed. The options are of course mostly chicken but they do have a vegetarian selection or two for those non-meat eaters. You get salad, corn bread and choice of one sides I went off of other reviews and got the mac and cheese. It was delicious, I wolfed it down so fast the waitress thought they had forgotten to put it on my plate!

What really impressed me (other than the food) was the fact that the owner came out and spoke with us. Asked us how we heard about her place and if there was anything we needed and gave us a sample of another type of chicken. I really found this to be a great touch for a restaurant that has already made their mark.

If you love comfort food, you will adore the Chicken Lady--she comes with a few rules and quirks so pay attention to what everyone says about her before you go :)

First of all, she's only open for a few hours a day (full time she does catering for the stars), don't try to swing by because you'll be bummed when you see a closed sign at 4 pm. The menu is streamlined but amazing--make sure you ask for her daily specials and always always taste the samples that she passes around--a few weeks ago she made a cheese pie (I had never heard of it either) and passed it around samples to everyone, it was epic.


The last time I went I was with a friend and we were hungry, we let our eyes do the ordering. The portions are huge--my friend and thought we'd try a bunch of things (2 orders of Chicken Strips, Beans, Mac & Cheese, Crab cakes, etc.) and we ended up with enough food to feed France. You have to get the Chicken Strips--they're a must have as is the Mac & Cheese. When you see all the photos of Hollywood stars plastering the walls it will make you feel a little better as you're consuming all those calories that 1/2 of Los Angeles is just as obsessed with the Chicken Lady as you are.

I come here fairly often. Every time, the Chicken Lady herself comes out of the kitchen to greet us. Since she is called "The Chicken Lady" her menu is limited to chicken. (Duh.) On Fridays, she offers a special, lk roasted chicken or ribs, which are delicious, too.


I almost always order the Cilantro Mesquite chix strips, but her Thai chix strips (breaded chix with a sweet glaze) are to die for, although not super healthy.


If you get a hot entree, you get a perfectly portioned meal: entree, side green salad, and a side....I always get the Mac and Cheese....you will not regret it!!!!!

TIP: The Chicken Lady is only open during the week, from 1130-230. The rest of her time is spent catering.
