2011 Madsic interview

                            Madsic Interview :
                               By Stacey
                                 2011
This is Stacey talking with Madsic one of the premiere underground bands out of ....Florida.... . Hello guys how are you all doing today? It is my pleasure to interview Madsic again .Ok lets get things started.

Pellas
-So I know you have not put out any new music since 05  what can we expect from Madsic in 2011?
Madsic-Six years of pent up inspirations, frustrations, and collaborations!

The new stuff will be heavier while being more melodic at the same time. The music still has the Madsic sound, but to a new level. The writing with our new guitarist Franz has clicked very well, with a lot of different feels to each song, much like our 2005 release Prison Of Hate. We always aim musically to be not what has happened before, but what is happening next.

Pellas-When can we expect the new CD drop?
Madsic- By the middle of 2011. We have seven new songs written so far, would like to have ten to thirteen on the CD.

Pellas-Do you have plans this your to tour out side of Florida, and if so how far are you going to go ? "As for me I would LOVE to see you come to ....Pennsylvania.... or close by " That's just this girls opinion :)
Madsic- We would love to do an East Coast Tour and a US Tour this year, a big part of that is going to be finding management, we want it to be set up right. We were working through some possible connections for management and record labels the end of last year, but it is hard to find the right people. We hope to have something in place by the time the new CD is done so that we can tour and promote it.

Pellas-You have a list of bands that are your influences if you could tour with one of them that band would you pick and why ?
Madsic- Korn and Slipknot are two of our favorites, that would make one awesome crowd! And what a Sic connection that would be for us! Or a show in ....Germany.... with Rammstein, they have such a great live show, and fans over there are so into it. We did a show last year with Mudvayne, Nonpoint and ....Hed.. ..PE...., it was a kickass time!

Pellas-Can you tell us a little about the Madsic mascot,Where did this crazy thing come from ?
Madsic- Arkicide has done a lot of our big shows with us since we started, you can check him out at

http://www.myspace.com/arkicide

He is a nice addition to a lot of our videos, and the crowd loves him.

Pellas-What do you feel has been the biggest challenge for Madsic over the last 3 years?
Madsic- Member changes. We have had 15 different people in this band since we started. It takes a lot of time and hard work to make it in an original music unsigned metal band, and a lot of times family and daytime jobs can keep members from being able to continue in a band. Every time we have a new lineup the music gets fresher and stronger, and we are able to take it to the next level, which we are looking forward to doing yet again with a new lineup.

Pellas-Are any of you planning on doing any solo projects in the future ?
Madsic- Coke has been asked to appear on some local band projects, and Evil will be making a guest appearance on a new Cd with one of his old friends Queenie from his last band.

But as for solo projects, we are focusing on Madsic’s new CD at this time.

Pellas-I know every band has to make sacrifices something, What has Madsic given up to bring us this brutal music.
Madsic- Our eardrums and our sanity!

Like we mentioned before, a lot of time and hard work goes into this. Most original metal bands spend thousands of dollars on gear and hours (or years) of their own time writing music, only to play for the majority of the time for free in the clubs, and only a small drop in the bucket of these bands ever make it to the point where they make a living at it. There are always some exceptions to the rule, but it can be discouraging. Also, it can be very hard on a relationship and family, shout out to supportive spouses everywhere! That and the continued love and support we receive from our fans make up for all of it. Madsic Fans, there are none better!

Pellas-How has your music evolved since you first began playing together?
Madsic- When we recorded the Prison Of Hate CD, we had just gotten together, wrote some songs, and went into the studio and recorded them. We are spending more time on preproduction and development of the music this time. The new music still has our Madsic sound that doesn’t sound like anyone that you can put your finger on, but still like, but will be even more in your face while at the same time being more melodic vocally.

Pellas- Any new merch to look forward to this year, and where can we get it ?
Madsic- Why, glad that you asked that!

We are designing more shirts and adding little things like buttons and bumper stickers, and of course the new CD when we are done with it. Our tunes, along with the Prison Of Hate CD, will be available on Itunes, and can be found at our MySpace site at www.myspace.com/madsic

Our merch site is at http://madsic.bigcartel.com/

Well thank you Madsic for doing this interview with me . I enjoy your music and I wish the best for you all in 2011 .  I think 2011 will be a "SIC  YEAR "
-Stacey
